A quick reply to Lenny Matthews (Record-Bee, January 18) about which Republicans would accept contributions from Log Cabin Republicans. The short answer? Practically all of them from the number of requests for donations we receive addressed to Log Cabin and our out and proud individual members from current officeholders and candidates.
Starting with Gov. Schwarzenegger, to Congressional members such as Mary Bono and John Campbell, State senators such as Tom Harman, and on down the list just to name a few. It”s sad that folks like you are so determined to make the GOP out to be hateful you haven”t stopped to learn the truth about the changes in the GOP amongst the rank and file.
There is a vocal minority against equality, just as there is in the Democratic Party that oppose equality. The difference is you don”t hear about it as much because Democrats are less tolerant of differing opinions due to their policy of diversity.
