UPDATED:

After reading the first front page article about the hospitalization of the Kelseyville Principal and the second front page article about the continuing saga of the events that led up to the hospitalization of the Kelseyville principal, I had to respond.

I couldn”t believe the huge headlines ? you would have thought Lake County had been attacked by terrorists. Then the misleading subject to the article was quite an exaggeration.

The “fans” turned out to be a son and his mother behaving badly in a verbal confrontation with school officials. Not to make any excuses for this bad behavior but I”m sure the mother was defending her son ? right or wrong. Unfortunately, the situation got way out of hand.

In regards to the remark from Coach Scott Conrad about a “fight” in the stands at a Middletown basketball game last year, that was one intoxicated student getting into a beef with another student – 2 people. His remark certainly left it wide open for anyone”s imagination after reading the rest of the article.

Mr. Sumpter should just stick to being a Sports Editor and leave the Enquirer style of journalism to all of those Hollywood wannabe”s.

We, Middletown fans, are proud and respectful and we surely didn”t need to have our reputation tarnished with this poor style of journalism. Bad behavior deserves to be dealt with but don”t punish us all for it.
