Is Sacramento needed for education?

Instead of closing down our state parks, I propose that Lake County petition the Governor to dissolve the bonds shared by our school districts and Sacramento bureaucracies. Thousands of private schools and home schools in California manage to turn out students with similar or better results than the government without any direction from Sacramento.

I recently reviewed at the budget for public school funding, and this year, out of $8,000 allotted for each student through 12th grade, only $5,000 will go to work within the County. Because the community here has an interest in and knowledge of the needs of our own educational system, we can use our tax dollars more efficiently by localizing. It will take work to figure out a system like this, but in the long run, we can keep our assets like the parks while beginning to provide more specialized schools.
