LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County Fish and Wildlife Committee, an advisory committee of the Board of Supervisors, is accepting nominations for Sportsmen of the Year awards.

Men and women who demonstrate a commitment to the conservation of Lake County”s natural resources are eligible for the award.

Eligibility requirements include:

1. Nominations must be either typed or legibly printed and submitted to the Fish and Wildlife Advisory Committee.

2. The individual must have done outstanding work to improve the fish, wildlife or environment in Lake County during the year for which the award is given.

3. The nominee doesn”t have to be a resident of Lake County but the accomplishment must have a direct bearing on the county. The individual does not have to be a hunter or fisherman.

4. Actual accomplishments should be listed along with any references that can confirm these accomplishments.

5. Any resident or nonresident of Lake County can nominate someone. For example, students can nominate a teacher.

Nominations should be submitted to the Fish and Wildlife Advisory Committee, c/o Department of Agriculture, 883 Lakeport Blvd. Lakeport, Ca., 95453. Nominations can be submitted throughout the year. Nominations should be submitted by May 1.
