LAKE COUNTY — A long-time Lower Lake High School teacher faces charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.
Reed Alan Leiferman, 45, of Kelseyville was booked into the Lake County Jail shortly after midnight Saturday after being arresting for DUI by the California Highway Patrol at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Leiferman was released on a bail amount of $1,740 shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday.
According to the Konocti Unified School District (KUSD), Leiferman has been employed by the district for more than 12 years.
He worked at KUSD in the late 1980s for four years, and was again employed by the district starting in 1996 to the present.
He currently teaches American Government and Economics at Lower Lake High School.
Lower Lake High School Principal Jeff Dixon was unavailable for comment Tuesday.
