CALISTOGA — Calistoga defeated the Upper Lake Cougars 10-0 in a non-league softball game on Wednesday in Calistoga.
The game was called after five innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.
Jessica Swaney pitched the first three innings for the Cougars (0-2) and took the loss. She struck out three and walked seven. Caity Falge relieved and struck out one and walked two over the final two innings.
Falge, Ashley Arroyo, Taryn Re, Rebecca Swaney and Jessica Swaney had two apiece for Upper Lake.
The Cougars return to action Friday in the opening round of the Willits Tournament.
