On page 3 of the March 12 Lake County Record Bee, there is an article announcing that Dr. Angela Herren has won a Fulbright scholarship.

On page 1 of the same paper, there is an article announcing that a public school teacher was arrested for DUI.

Here are my questions: Why doesn”t the article on page 3 mention that Dr. Angela Marie Herren is a graduate of Kelseyville High School, a product of the Lake County public schools, and the 1990 Miss Lake County?

Why is the article announcing that a Kelseyville High School graduate won a Fulbright scholarship on page 3 of the newspaper, and an article announcing that a public school teacher supports Lake County”s alcohol industry on the front page of the same paper?

Does the Lake County Record Bee believe that these two articles have been presented in a way that accurately represents our Lake County community?

Editor”s Note: The article about Dr. Herren came from a press release submitted to the Record-Bee”s community desk. It was not a staff-generated story. The original release did not reference Dr. Herren”s background other than what was printed.
