I usually enjoy reading the Record Bee, but lately I have been disappointed. I was disappointed to see in Wednesday”s edition, another picture and article of a local educator on the front page being arrested for DUI. About a month ago, there was a picture and article about another educator who was arrested for DUI.
It seems that the newspaper is targeting educators who receive DUI”s. Why not put everyone”s picture and title who is arrested for DUI in the paper? Maybe the paper should have a special section for DUI”s. It just seems to me that there are far more newsworthy items to report on in the county.
It is unfortunate enough that people make the mistake to drink and drive; they do not need the embarrassment of having the paper plaster their pictures on the front page. Is there some point this newspaper is trying to make? I understand the consequences of drinking and driving but is it fair to put the pictures of some individuals and not all?
