BUCKINGHAM — Kelseyville High School defeated the Middletown Mustangs in a non-conference golf match on Thursday at Buckingham Golf and Country Club.

Kelseyville finished with 205 strokes in the nine-hole match and Middletown was incomplete (fewer than the required five golfers).

Jonathan Bridges and Hipolito Perez of Kelseyville tied for the low round of the day, a 2-over-par 38. Nick Schaefer of Kelseyville and Middletown”s Doug Quinones and Lisa Copeland each had 41.

“I was a lot more pleased with this than with our results the other day,” Kelseyville coach John Berry said. “Maybe we can compete for our conference title (Coastal Mountain Conference South).”

Golfers on both teams had to endure what Berry called a “three-club wind” because of the gusty conditions.

Other scores had Kelseyville”s Tyler Drake at 43 and Kelseyville”s Cameron Blackburn and Middletown Blaine Ruggis at 45.

Bridges and Perez each had two birdies and Schaefer, Drake and Copeland each had one.

Kelseyville, Middletown and the six other teams that make up the CMC South meet Thursday at Mount St. Helena Golf Course in Calistoga for the first South match of the season.
