Are local Indians promoting racial tensions?
I am getting a bit irritated by the few local Indians who want to propagate the racism in this county. In today”s paper (Record-Bee, March 20), there were remarks by those people that show how little they know.
First, the Indians who were in the South during the War of Northern Aggression were fighting on the side of the Confederacy. The KKK had nothing to do with Indian torment as far as I can see.
The whole mess about the mascot is absurd. The American depicted in that painting is nothing more than a true American with a pride in himself showing in that painting. I would rather have my children and grandchildren looking at that image than some faceless brutal self-serving religious icon.
For the first time in a long time I feel like I am surrounded by a bunch of racists and it is not from the simple division of black and white like I grew up with. Now I suppose we need to start breeding people to keep each race pure. Is that your answer?
