Mr. Herb Gura (Letters to the Editor, Record-Bee, March 21) is wrong. I read everyone of the letters about the teacher being arrested for DUI, and I still feel the same way.
If someone who is entrusted with the job of teaching my children is arrested for DUI, I would want to know about it. This is not just a traffic violation. This is a serious crime where someone is taking a chance of killing innocent people with no regard for the law or anyone else on the road.
No one is arrested for drunk driving without either having their blood alcohol level checked or refusing to let the law take it.
Maybe now with all the attention to this case, they will not sweep it under the table just because he is a teacher. Maybe he will actually have to take responsibility for his actions. What a change that would be, huh? After all, he is the one that got drunk and still drove his car.
