Do candidates follow parties, not people?
This is a response to the letter from Mr. Dufrain (Record-Bee, April 2). First-off, I”d like to just say thank-you for pointing out some of the fallacies in my research.
I”d also like to say that I didn”t say this as a representative or ditto of any partisan source (including Rush Limbaugh) nor did I attempt to boost the Republican Party at all.
I attempted to do my own research on the matter so I could come up with a straight-forward conclusion ? all sources have flaws it seems, even my encyclopedia.
The reason I wrote my letter was as a response to some things I”ve been hearing lately about the so-called “can do-no-wrong” Democratic Party.
The fact of the matter is that any candidate that is represented by a party will (No matter how “good” they are) do what their party wants them to do ? not necessarily the people they represent. Why is that? It”s because the party, not the people, pay most of their bills.
Just some food for thought ? what would the country be like if we voted for people by who they are ? the policies they have a history of representing ? and not by any party affiliation; what would the country be like if every candidate was independent of party control and agendas?
