CLEARLAKE — George Novak tossed a two-hitter and struck out six Tuesday to lead the Lower Lake High School junior varsity baseball team past the St. Helena Saints 7-1 in North Central League I interlock action at Redbud Park.
“He pitched a great game,” Lower Lake coach Joe Mattos said. “He threw really strong.”
Corey Boyce hit a two-run home run for the Trojans and Shawn Bigelow went 3-for-4 with a double and triple as Lower Lake improved to 2-3.
“We”re young, but week by week we”re getting better,” Mattos said. “They played great today.”
Mattos credited assistant coach Beto Fonseca with the team”s progression during the season.
“He”s been a big help,” Mattos said.
