MIDDLETOWN– A suspect was taken in to custody in connection with a bomb threat at Middletown high School according to a press release provided by Middletown Unified School District.

A voice mail left at the high school Tuesday indicated that a bomb was present in a campus locker. The Lake County Sheriff”s Department responded and all students were temporarily evacuated as a result to a safe location on campus. South Lake Fire Department assisted in the investigation. A search of the campus and all lockers was conducted.

It was determined that there was no imminent threat and students were sent back to classrooms to resume regular instruction according to a statement provided by Principal Chris Heller.

The press release indicates that a suspect was taken in to custody after solid evidence was obtained by LCSD.

The Middletown High School administration commends students and staff for “remaining calm and compliant during a potential crisis situation.”
