LAKE COUNTY — A 55-year-old Kelseyville woman was seriously injured Wednesday when for unknown reasons, her vehicle crossed over the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Judith Green was westbound on Soda Bay Road west of Inca Way when she drove her 2002 Lincoln left over the lines and struck 29-year-old Ame Bland of Clearlake head-on.
Bland was driving a 2000 Nissan Xterra, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Sutter Lakeside Hospital. She had one passenger in the vehicle, David Bland, who was uninjured.
Green sustained severe injuries and was transported by air ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa. She had no other passengers in the vehicle. CHP Officer Craig Van Housen is investigating the incident. It is still under investigation as to why Green crossed over the double yellow lines. All involved parties were wearing seatbelts, CHP said.
According to a hospital spokesperson, Green was in stable condition at Memorial Hospital as of Friday afternoon.
