KELSEYVILLE — Wade Curtiss of Lincoln increased his first-day lead in the pro division and Kyle Baker of Lancaster moved atop the leaderboard in the amateur division following round two of the Stren Series Western Division pro-am bass tournament on Thursday at Clear Lake.

The megabucks tournament runs through Saturday. Today”s third-round weigh-in takes place at 2:30 p.m. at Konocti Harbor Resort & Spa, at which time the field will be cut from 200 fishermen in each division to just the top 10 pros and top 10 amateurs. Saturday”s final-round weigh-in is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Clearlake.

At stake in the tournament, which has a total purse of $275,225, is up to $65,000 for the winning pro and up to $35,000 for the winning amateur.

While Curtiss and Baker own the top spot in their respective divisions at the halfway point of the tournament, Lake County fishermen are in contention for both titles, especially in the pro division, where Curtiss leads the way with 52 pounds and 11 ounces, more than 10 pounds ahead of Philip Garcia of Yuba City (41-1), who brought the most weight to the scales on Thursday with 23-10.

Brian Nollar of Homer, Alaska, is third with 39-13.

Rounding out the top five spots are Lakeport fishermen Jared Stone (38-15) and Tom Jolin (38-0).

Mark Crutcher of Lakeport (37-9) is eighth and Jimmy Reese of Witter Springs (37-2) is 10th.

In the amateur division, Baker leads the field with 38-5 and Scott Sweet of Chatsworth is in second place with 37-1. Lakeport”s Tommy Cardoza is fourth with 33-8.

Rich Reeser of Dixon is fifth overall at 32-13.
