Road work has started in Clearlake. Central Valley Engineering and Paving began construction on Monday April 21. The project consists of roadway rehabilitation and asphalt overlay of the city”s arterial streets.
According to a press release recently issued by the city, there will be road closures and traffic controlled by flagmen. During road closures, the public will have alternate routes to access their homes. There will be advance signs and hand-out flyers with work and traffic information that will detail dates, times and durations of any closures.
The following is a schedule of street work and traffic control that will be in effect during construction:
* April 21 and 22 — Old Highway 53 between Lakeshore and Olympic drives. Alternate routes are Austin Road, West 40th Avenue, Redwood Street and Jefferson Avenue.
* April 23 — Lakeshore Drive between State Route 53 and Old Highway 53 will be closed to through traffic. Alternate route is West 40th Avenue.
* April 24 and 25 — Olympic Drive between State Route 53 and Jackson Street. Alternate routes are Austin Drive, Jefferson Street, Emerson Street and Turner Avenue.
* April 24 and 25 — Olympic Drive between Burns Valley Road and Mattioda Court will be under one-way traffic control by flagmen.
* April 28 and 29 — Old Highway 53 between Lakeshore Drive and State Route 53 will be closed. Alternate routes are Golf Avenue, Golf Street, Laguna Avenue and Lelabelle Street.
