LAKEPORT ? The auditions are over and the Lake County Arts Council is busy preparing for its 27th annual Spring Dance Festival. The tickets are now on sale.
There will be two performances of this popular Lake County event this year. On Saturday, May 3, the performance will be at 7:30 p.m. and there will be a matinee at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 4. Doors open one half-hour before the performances begin.
This year”s festival will present a veritable smorgasbord of dance. Included are clogging and tap, traditional and lyrical jazz, ballet and some hip-hop. Also included this year is a selection of ballroom and line dances by some new participants.
Performers of all ages will be featured in this popular event. It is being held in the Marge Alakszay Center at Clear Lake High School in Lakeport.
Ticket prices for advance sales are general admission, $12; arts council members, seniors, students and handicapped, $10; children younger than 12, $6. Tickets will be $1 higher at the door.
Tickets may be purchased in Lakeport at the following locations: LCAC office, 325 N. Main St.; and Catfish Books in Willow Tree Plaza. Tickets are also available at Wild About Books, 14290 Olympic Drive, Suite A, in Clearlake.
A limited number of reserved seats are still at $15 and may be obtained by advance sale only at the arts council office, 325 N. Main St.
The parent passes will continue to be offered to parents of youthful performers who must accompany their children to each performance. These are available from dance teachers only for $10 each. All tickets will be $1 higher at the door. Tickets may be charged on Visa or Mastercard but not at the door.
