I would like to thank Mike Sullivan for his rebuttal to my April 19 letter. Although his words were not pertinent to the subjects I before mentioned, his letter left me with an erector set of misplaced nuts and bolts for immediate disassembly. I will start the debunking, with the “race card” statement Sullivan used. “Institutional Racism” pertains to capitalism and slavery. It is my belief Sullivan was inferring that I am a racist, which is not true. Personally, I have no use for slavery nor capitalism as I can clean my own toilet, mow my own lawn and I am working for a long term advancement of European Americans. Not capital gain like him.
I have never hired an illegal immigrant to do anything. Can Sullivan say the same? We all know how capitalism works. And we should also know hiring illegal immigrants is a crime in this country.
In addition, Sullivan with his letter, also inferred an air of ignorance by suggesting I wasn”t listening in history class when we learned how downtrodden our Irish ancestors were when they immigrated to this country. Perhaps he was referring to his own ancestors, as mine were always versed in self determination and were never victims of famine.
Also, Sullivan noted that Sixth Century India had invented the original Democratic republic, without mention to the caste system which originally was in place to preserve the ethnic European hierarchy of the caste and ruling elite. Sullivan claims Europeans “could hardly have invented it.” We know better. America was founded by the people of Europe. Facing tremendous odds, we fought and died to build this country. You and I are descendants of those who gave us the blessings of America and we have a duty to protect and defend the inheritance of our children.
