The Record-Bee”s recent coverage of the Board of Supervisor”s meeting left out the answer to the most important issue. What were the benefits to the County for signing a 25-year lease? The answer was given that NCPA gets 90 percent of the power savings and the County of Lake, only 10 percent. The reason the Planning Commission had to give this use permit under state law was because the BOS signed a 25-year lease with NCPA three months earlier. Once the lease was signed, the county was obligated.
Did our supervisors get us a fair deal? We encourage the Record-Bee to investigate the “path” of this lease and its terms.
