On Tuesday, April 8, the Riviera Board, Rob Brown and the Road Dept. began their first public night of weaving their web of distortion and deceit. They have all been meeting in back rooms making their master plan to pull off the biggest tax scam in Lake County.
Never before have such a few people tried to hoodwink more then 2,800 local taxpayers; all in the name of “we want to help you!” We did not ask to be helped; we already pay for our roads. But Rob Brown says “the roads are in horrible condition. They have not been maintained properly, because we haven”t had the resources.”
The roads haven”t been maintained since they were built in the 1970s? Wow, that means for the last 30 plus years the supervisors of our district, including the past eight years of Rob Brown, millions of dollars in road taxes from gas taxes, license fees, property taxes, etc. weren”t used for roads. So where did the tax money go? What really has been neglected is the pot of gold we”ve been filling up each year. Go back to Lakeport and look for the 38 years of Clear Lake Riviera taxes.
