I am glad that Mike Wilhelm had wrote a letter on how dysfunctional the Clear Lake Riviera Community Association Board was five years ago.
In the Clear Lake Riviera, we have in the vicinity of 30 deputized police officers in the community. You pay for them with your tax dollars. Well, security ended five years ago. You can come out from under your bed; there is no boogie man.
Let”s talk about the land. For nearly 40 years, every board that came along to develop parks had tossed back at them “Not In MY Back Yard.” We sold it.
We put in the parking lot instead of parking on dirt after nearly forty years, and bought the land adjacent to the community association.
That is were the money went. Now the county is putting in a park by the Riviera Elementary School with your tax dollars. After only five years.

This is were the county is attempting to use the Association as a surrogate government. I attended that meeting on March 8. I heard the story: excuses, excuses, excuses. You pay taxes, and these are public roads.
This whole charade about not doing anything and hustling this community for the road repair funds. It sets a dangerous precedence. It is another brick for empire building, and a lack of accountability.
With the combined Association dues $86, and Road Work $134 is $240 annually, or $20 a month you should keep.
You should not be threatened if you do not give it away. We pay taxes I don”t see excuses when I send them the money. I am running for the Board with the intent of having a vote to shut down Clear Lake Riviera Home Owners Association.
This is removing a surrogate government that our elected officials are attempting to use to pick up the tab for them not spending our money on are community.
Their greatest fear is that they can not pass the buck. It is true down sizing of government. It makes the elected officials think.
