LAKEPORT ? The pleasing sounds of Ian Shaul will entertain us at the Main Street Gallery”s First Friday Fling reception for the artists to be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. May 2.
The May show features a wide variety of artistic talent with four new artists in this month”s show. Elaine Lewis returns to the gallery with work in oils. Diana Liebe is featured on the platform with fine wearable art on silk and watercolors of Lake County. Lorraine Wade surprises the eye with collages. The multi talented Pat Courtney brings finely painted porcelain to the shelves.
Continuing in the May show are the pen and ink drawings of Joe Schopplein, Corrine McEvers in oils, John Ells and Meredith Gambrel in acrylics, Pat Courtney in acrylic and oils, Tom McComber”s work in “found” materials in metal sculpture, jewelry by Stephnie Bero, Allen Warren in photography and Kennie Winter in watercolors.
The Student Gallery will have a brand new face as it presents the works of 14 students ranging in age from 8 to 16.
An artist in her own right, Pat Hopper has been working with young artists for over 30 years. While in the Student Gallery you can browse our ever changing merchandise in the Gallery”s Gift Shop.
To further enhance the evening festivities, Chris Skarada will be pouring the award winning wines of Tulip Hill Winery as you sample finger food, meet the artists and mingle with other artists and art lovers.
We are pleased to assist in the fund-raising undertaken by Gail Salituri for the Barbara LaForge memorial fund with the proceeds going to the Lake County Resource Center”s project to build a domestic violence shelter. The Main Street Gallery and the Lake County Arts Council are excited and find it an honor that Gail chose us for introducing this project.
