SANTA ROSA — Clear Lake High School junior Brad Bosworth finished first in the standard foil competition during the second annual Fencing Tournament held recently at Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa.
The tournament was held in conjunction with SRJC”s Days Under the Oaks event.
In addition to the standard foil, there were also divisions for saber, electric foil and electric epee. There were participants from SRJC, Mendocino College, Sonoma State University and several fencing clubs in the North Bay area.
Bryan Bosworth, an eighth-grader at Terrace Middle School in Lakeport, added a second-place finish in standard foil.
Brad and Bryan have been studying fencing under the tutelage of Dr. Greg Hicks at Mendocino College in Ukiah.
