ST. HELENA — Dane Larsen and Dustin Rudiger each went 3-for-3 on Tuesday to propel the Middletown Mustangs past the St. Helena Saints 8-3 in a North Central League I interlock junior varsity baseball game at St. Helena.

Larsen drove in two of the Mustangs” two runs and Rudiger had a double and stole three bases.

Winning pitcher Eric Schenck worked the first four innings, allowing four hits, striking out five and walking five. Brett Humphrey relieved and closed out the game.

“Eric was real solid on the mound for us,” Middletown coach Charles Russ said. “We executed pretty well.”

On Monday, Middletown dropped a 13-3 league decision at Fort Bragg. Humphrey took the loss and Schenck went 1-for-2 with a RBI.

Middletown is 1-3 in the NCL I North standings and 9-8 overall.
