CLEARLAKE — The Friday Night Farmers” Market will open for business June 6 at the old Austin Resort at Lakeshore and Olympic drives in the City of Clearlake.
At the Saturday, May 10, meeting of the Lake County Community Co-Op, committee coordinator PharaLee Travis reported that the weekly farmers” market will operate from 4 to 8 p.m. June 6 through Oct. 17.
“Posters and flyers are being designed courtesy of the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce,” Travis said. “Lori [Peters, the executive director] has a wonderful artist who is designing flyers. The chamber is also helping with costs of folding and addressing applications.”
The Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce and Lake County Community Co-Op recently invited musicians to contact Jerry Toler at 995-9602 or toler@saber.net if they would like to play at the farmers” market. Travis reported on Saturday that vendors and musicians have begun coming forward.
She said the cost of a vendor space, at 20 by 20 feet, will be $15 for the first day. This price will be reduced if a vendor reserves a space for the entire season.
The farmers” market committee will need volunteers who can assist with posting flyers, attending committee meetings and working at the market once a month. At an earlier committee meeting, reported on the co-op”s Wiki site, members determined that setup would begin at 3 p.m. and that cleanup would be over by 9 p.m. each week.
