SAN MATEO — Clear Lake High School long jump standout Anisa Green is the No. 1 seed among the 20 entrants who will compete in that event today at the North Coast Section Class A Track Championships at the College of San Mateo.
Green will also compete in the triple jump, where she”s seeded No. 3, and the high jump. Her season-best jumps to date are 16 feet, 11 inches in the long jump, 32-11 1/2 in the triple jump and 4-6 in the high jump.
The top three finishers in all running and field events at the Class A meet advance to the Meet of Champions the following Saturday at U.C. Berkeley.
Green leads a strong contingent of Clear Lake athletes into the Class A meet.
Two of Green”s teammates, Travis Stockton and Erik Jameson, also are scheduled to compete in three events today. Stockton will join Kevin Burt, Seth Glazier and Armando Martinez on the Cardinals” 4×100 relay team, which is seeded No. 2. He”ll also compete in the long jump, where he is the No. 9 seed with a season-best jump of 19-4 3/4, and in the 100.
Jameson is the No. 2 seed in the pole vault (10-0) and is unseeded in the 110 hurdles and triple jump.
Chris Leloup is the No. 8 seed in the shotput (39-10) and is also entered in the long jump.
Tyler Glazier will compete in the high jump while brother Seth runs the 400.
Stockton will be joined in the 100 by teammates Martinez and Burt.
Rounding out Clear Lake”s contingent is Ashley Tipton, who will compete in the discus.
Following the Meet of Champions is the CIF State Championships on May 30-31.
