LAKE COUNTY ? The California Highway Patrol identified the man who died in a Wednesday head-on collision as George Watson, 65, of Holiday, Fla.
The 3:15 p.m. collision happened on Highway 29 between its intersections with Highway 175 and Highland Springs Road. The stretch of highway was blocked for approximately two-and-a-half hours while CHP and fire responders extracted four injured people from the wreckage.
The southbound driver of a white Ford F-150 saw the northbound driver of a silver Toyota 4Runner swerve into the wrong lane and swerved left into the northbound lane to avoid a crash, according to CHP Sgt Dave Stark. The two vehicles collided head-on when the Toyota swerved back into the northbound lane.
