LAKE COUNTY ? Building a safe house for homeless Lake County teens is the purpose of a Saturday fundraiser at the Rob Roy Golf Course on Cobb Mountain. The four-person scramble golf tournament and silent auction starts at 11:15 a.m., and tee time is at 12 noon.
Also featured will be a Western buffet dinner, raffle and live auction, according to LCCAA Executive Director Georgina Lehne. Proceeds will go to develop a safe house for homeless teens.
“We”re going to start small so it”s not going to cost that much ? maybe $5,000 a month to start,” Lehne said.
Friends of the Safe House, a Cobb Mountain group that headed up the project, organized the fundraiser, according to Lehne.
