PETALUMA — The St. Vincent Mustangs rocked the Kelseyville Knights and losing pitcher Casey Bowlin for three home runs in a 10-0 North Central League I interlock softball victory on Wednesday in Petaluma.

While Kelseyville took a 13-11 record into the game ? the North Coast Section currently limits teams to 24 games in a season ? Kelseyville coach Greg Giusti said the Knights had not violated the 24-game rule because two of their victories earlier in the season against the Ukiah JVs and Ukiah frosh squads were actually scrimmages and not games.

Kelseyville”s adjusted record now stands at 11-12.

Brianna Cabral, Dj Garcia and Alyssa Garcia all went deep for St. Vincent (14-8), the NCL I South champion this season.

“They obviously know how to play their homefield,” Kelseyville coach Greg Giusti said of the short porch in left field. “But no excuses ? they”re a good team.”

The Mustangs (14-8) banged out 10 hits to the Knights” three. Katie Davis went 2-for-2 and Jen Asbury went 1-for-2.

Bowlin walked five and struck out one in four innings.

Giusti said he would attend the North Coast Section Class A at-large and seeding meeting Sunday in Walnut Creek.

“It will be a good learning experience,” he said.
