LAKE COUNTY — The Lower Lake parade and pet parade is this Sunday and according to promoters, “Everyone loves a parade!”
“Wild, Wild West” is the theme parade participants will showcase. Lower Lake Feed Store owner Teressa Harborth will serve as this year”s grand marshal and will lead the procession down Main Street in historical Lower Lake beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 25.
“Don”t forget that this is a pet parade, too,” says parade chairperson Lonne Sloan. “So, enter your pet mouse to pet elephant. You could win a prize!”
Following the parade, a festival will ensue at Lower Lake Community Park. The festival will include vendors, live music, barbecue lunch and raffles.
“Lake County Cares” Wiloth Equine Therapy Group will be offering horseback rides at the park. The group will also be selling raffle ticket for an opportunity for a round pen valued at $1500, in benefit of Wiloth Equine Therapy Riding Center and Western Regional Bull Riders Association.
Horsemen awards will be presented at Lower Lake High School at 1 p.m. All other awards will be presented from the park gazebo at 2:30 p.m.

Cash award sweepstakes are included in the awards and there is no fee to enter. Sweepstakes awards will be given in categories including Horse Junior, Horse Senior, Pet Overall and Parade Overall. Parade entry forms are available at Lower Lake Feed Store, Lower Lake Coffee Company, DJ”s Pizza, John”s Henry”s Pub, in Lower Lake; and Kevin Ness Jewelers and Perfect Printers in Clearlake.
