LAKEPORT ? Patricia Martin Osborne, who has received wide acclaim for her watercolor and mixed media paintings in both impressionistic and abstract form, will be teaching a class on “Floral Watercolor Secrets and Techniques,” 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, June 8, and Monday, June 9, with a break for lunch at noon, at the Main Street Gallery in Lakeport.

An essence of spontaneity, excitement and energy flow through her work and is evident in the close-up studies of nature, wildlife, people and landscapes executed by Osborne. This class will concentrate on Osborne sharing her skills in background design, form, color and placement in floral arrangements as students execute their own paintings in this world of mystery and serenity.

Osborne was educated at the College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland and San Jose State University and studied with many prominent artists and has received many awards, including best of show. We are pleased that Osborne has included the Main Street Gallery, located at 325 N. Main St. in Lakeport, in her teaching schedule in California. For more information or to register, please call the gallery at 263-6658 or Osborne at 937-1104 or posborne@mcn.org or www.patriciaosborne.com.

Shelby S. Posada is executive director of the Lake County Arts Council.
