LAKE COUNTY — The North Coast Section has honored Middletown High School”s girls” track team and the boys” tennis and swimming teams at Kelseyville High School for outstanding academic achievement.
The three teams with the highest GPAs in each sport are annually recognized by the NCS as “Scholastic Champions.” Middletown”s girls” track team had a 3.54 GPA, the second highest in the section after the 3.72 posted by Crystal Springs-Upland (Hillsborough). University High School of San Francisco was third overall at 3.44.

The combined Clear Lake-Kelseyville”s boys” swim team also finished second in the section at 3.45. Mission San Jose (Fremont) was first at 3.52 and Monte Vista (Danville) was third at 3.45.

Kelseyville”s boys” tennis team, coached by Jeff McLaren, finished third in the section at 3.66. Mendocino led the way at 3.77 and Castro Valley was second at 3.71.
