The Old Time Bluegrass Festival has an official logo for 2008.
Students from area high schools were invited to design a logo for the Old Time Bluegrass Festival, which takes place each year at Anderson Marsh State Historic Park off State Route 53 in Lower Lake.
“All high schools had an opportunity to compete,” said John Burke with the Anderson Marsh Interpretive Association.
The theme of the design was “Heron on the Strum,” which depicts a heron playing a traditional bluegrass instrument. Students were asked to submit their entries to their high school arts teachers.
Middletown High School senior Cami Wisely was this year”s contest winner. “I”m thinking of going to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising,” she said when asked about her plans for after graduation.
Wisely was also a second-place winner in a congressional art competition sponsored by U.S. Congressman Mike Thompson. Wisely said she has the congressional award up on her wall at home. Wisely lives in Loch Lomond with her parents, Mike and Toni Wisely.
Wisely”s winning logo will appear on promotional materials for the Old Time Bluegrass Festival, which includes T-shirts, posters and advertising.
Sponsors are being encouraged to assist with supporting the event in various dollar amounts. Contact Frank and Anna McAtee at 994-0958 or send your check, made out to AMIA, to PO Box 672, Lower Lake, CA 95457.
