LAKEPORT — Noel McCormack Jr. is on a pretty good roll in the Late Model division at the Lakeport Speedway.
One week after winning the big Memorial Day main event, McCormack was back in the winner”s circle again Saturday night at the paved quarter-mile oval, where he won the A-main in front of Mike Lovell, Jarred Beddow, Sean Caturegli and Jimmy Stillman.
McCormack also set a new track record during qualifying with a 12.012-second lap.
Bill Binns won the trophy dash.
In other racing action Saturday night, Matt Scott won the Legends Cars main event, Brandon Osborne won the Bandoleros feature race, David Furia topped the field in the modified main event, and Gary Collins won the feature race in the bomber division.
Legends Cars
Scott took the checkered flag in the main event in front of Dylan Albiani, Robby Czub, Jessica Walker and David Fisher.
Czub set the fast time in 13.687 and also won the second heat race. Phillip Morresey won the first heat race and Scott captured the trophy dash.
Bandoleros
It was Osborne”s night all the way around in the Bandoleros division. He not only won the main event in front of Brenton Smith, Darin Silva, Keegan Beebe and Shane Dunsing, but he also set the fast time (14.352), won the trophy dash and the heat race.
Modifieds
Furia”s victory in the modified main event came in front of Gary Lowblad, Danny Bishop, Shelby Helm and Richie Potts.
Bob Strauss set the fast time (12.635) and won the second heat race, Mike Smithhart won the trophy dash, and Mike Sullivan won the first heat race.
Bombers
Collins crossed the finish line first in the bomber main event, beating out points leader Roman Rose, points runner-up George Abella, Jon Waner and Jimmy Sorrels.
Rose was fast qualifier (14.568), Waner won the trophy dash and Sorrels and Collins were the heat race winners.
Racing returns to the Lakeport Speedway on Saturday night and features the Bay Cities Racing Association midgets and vintage midgets as well as the modifieds and bombers.
