The Naysayers have made their points. Officials who propose a subsidized plan to make new roads and residents who are interested in the plan have hear them out.

Now it is time to admit that this is not the best of all possible worlds, and go forward.

The State takes our tax money then disperses much less than we need to maintain our county”s roads. The State”s formula favors the county with large population and more registered vehicles over the rural county, regardless of the miles of roads a county maintains. That formula may be changed some day, but not in time to fix our roads in Clear Lake Riviera.

New roads will increase property values in Clear Lake Riviera and will be more pleasant and safer to drive on. The county is willing to pay one-third of the new roads costs. This is a plan for new roads – not mere road repair.

Vote for new roads before it is too late.
