LAKEPORT — Track records fell left and right Saturday at the Lakeport Speedway as Nick Foster, Rick Rose and Roman Rose set records during qualifying at the quarter-mile paved oval.

Foster clocked in at 11.699 seconds for the visiting Bay Cities Racing Association midget cars, Rick Rose qualified in 12.423 in the modified division, and Roman Rose broke the record in the bomber division at 14.420.

Fast times didn”t equate into main event wins for the three, however. Feature winners were Shannon McQueen in the BCRA midget class, Mark Marek in the modified division, and Mike Rose in the bomber class.

BCRA midgets

McQueen took the checkered flag in the feature race ahead of Kyle Dickerson, Nick Foster, Nick Chivello and Floyd Alvis.

Dickerson won the trophy dash, McQueen won the only heat race, and Alvis took the slow dash.

Modifieds

Marek”s victory in the modified main event came in front of Bob Strauss, Rick Rose, Mike Smithhart and Danny Bishop.

Heat winners were Bishop and Mike Sullivan. Smithhart won the trophy dash. Sean Sweeney finished first in the slow dash.

Bombers

Mike Rose beat Roman Rose, Eric Johnson, Richard Bray and Andy Norton to the finish line in the bomber main event. George Abella won the only heat race and the trophy dash. Richie Schwarm won the slow dash.

Racing returns to the Lakeport Speedway on June 21 when the BCRA midgets join the modifieds and bombers. Exhibitions and events sponsored by the Kulture Shock Car Show will take place throughout the night, which will be capped by the first of two demolition derbies.
