LAKE COUNTY ?- A Jan. 27 jury trial date was set Monday for former Nice resident Morgan Matthew Jack. Jack is accused of allegedly murdering taxi driver and beloved community member Paul Joseph Womachka.
Womachka was reported missing on the morning of June 27, 2007. He picked Jack as a fare at Robinson Rancheria Bingo and Casino shortly after midnight the same morning. Authorities found Womachka”s body inside his submerged Hey Taxi van in the marina adjacent to Konocti Vista Resort and Casino on the Big Valley Rancheria in Lakeport two days later. Jack is held at the Lake County Jail on a no-bail hold. His defense attorney is Stephen Carter.
