CLEARLAKE — Shortly before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Lake County Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire on the 3600 block of Redwood Street. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

The incident is under investigation; however, Fire Captain Charlie Diener said that investigators believe the blaze originated outside of the home. “The crews did a real good job and we were able to contain the fire to the outside of the home with some extension into the interior causing a little bit of damage to the bathroom.” Diener said. “It looks like the house will be able to be rebuilt though.”

The single occupant of the residence and his dog were able to escape the blaze unharmed. He said he had been taking a nap when the fire alarm woke him up and he was able to exit the house safely.

LCFPD responded with three engines, a water tender and an ambulance. Clearlake Police Department and Volunteers in Policing assisted with traffic control.
