Are we really fighting for the American flag?
In reply to a letter in last week”s Record-Bee (Front photo was a disgrace to American Flag, June 20) to those with children serving in Iraq or Afghanistan, I am a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Please do not mollify your fear and emotions by believing your kid is in a combat zone fighting for the American flag. He or she is doing nothing of the sort. They do not represent this American veteran or most Americans. They are fighting for lies and the dishonor of America.
Most, had they been able to find a job or fund an education, probably never would have enlisted in the first place. And if you think otherwise, why won”t this nation re-institute the military draft? Because you know you”d see the largest anti-war movement this nation has ever dealt with.
Jail people who made or fly a Gay Pride American Flag? How can I get a photo of that flag, or the flag? I”d love to hang one from my front porch. You really wish to live in a “democracy?”
