Not in my back yard, NIMBY, a common phrase for everything from drug rehab to homeless shelters, which people do not want in their neighborhoods. If we marginalize homeless families, how are their children to get role models?

Big Brothers and Big Sisters is not large enough to encompass all of the families, who need role models for their children. Why are so many landlords loathe to rent to families with teenage children? Sure, all landlords would prefer to rent to senior citizens, as we are easier on the housing than children, and cause less problems in the neighborhood. Just because the parents are disabled and the children are teens, does not dehumanize them. We need to quit marginalizing them and allow them decent housing.
