CLEARLAKE — Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly dinner meetings at the Lakehouse Inn and Bistro on Lakeshore Drive for the remainder of the year. Chamber members enjoyed their last two meetings at the Lakehouse as well.
The speaker scheduled for the July meeting held on July 1, was unable to attend, which provided chamber members with ample time to socialize in the comfort of the inn. Guests mingled on the patio overlooking the Lakehouse harbor where they enjoyed a spectacular view of Mt. Konocti. Inside, chamber members chatted leisurely as they relaxed on the conforming sofas in the lounge where a full-service bar offered refreshing libations.
Lakehouse Inn and Bistro opened its doors to the public on June 25 at the location formerly known as the Lamplighter. The establishment offers a daily lunch and dinner menu as well as Sunday brunch. Menus feature American bistro fare with an eclectic mix of styles and tastes from around the world.
The Lakehouse Inn also provides overnight accommodations with an on sight swimming pool. There is also a harbor for guests to moor their boats.
“We are really excited to welcome the Lakehouse Inn and Bistro to the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce and our beautiful community,” said chamber executive director Lori Peters. “The hotel and restaurant are wonderful additions to the ambiance we strive to create here in the City of Clearlake.”
Peters provided an update of chamber activity during the meeting. She reported that chamber volunteers fielded an average of 26 calls per day during the month of June and responded to an average of five e-mails daily. Volunteers issued more than 600 boat stickers and passed out more than 75 Welcome Wagon gift bags.
According to Peters, the chamber currently has 11 volunteers helping to man the office from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. She encouraged those in attendance to contact the volunteers and provide them with as much information about their business as possible. “The more knowledge they have about your business the more they can be your advocate,” she said.
Peters announced that a community guide/membership directory is currently in the works. She advised that a representative will be contacting members in August for advertising in the guide. “This guide will feature local tourist and community information, directory listing including name, address and phone number of all members, advertising and short articles showcasing what is great about Lake County,” Peters explained. The guide will be a mailer for the visitor”s center as well as for the chamber.
The chamber welcomed two new businesses to its membership during the recent meeting. Jeff and Laurel Colter of Colter Construction; and Tony and Tamary Bordessa, of Bordessa Construction introduced themselves and enjoyed their first dinner as members of the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce.
