Some may think the Fire Department personnel just washes and polishes equipment or work on their outstanding cooking skills. Not so.
Besides keeping us as safe as possible with fire danger, did you know when you dial 911 many calls are to assist at the scene of an accident or help an elderly person who has have fallen in their house or needs medical assistance, however, a great deal of their work is transporting patients in and out of the County to other hospitals.
With all the fires in the area, I personally urge all of us to do our part by cleaning and clearing our properties and meet the guidelines set by the Fire Protection Department.
These guys do a great job for things we take for granted. Next time you are thinking of donating to your favorite charity, think of a donation to our local Fire Departments. It stays right here in the County. I you like, you can designate it go towards the Fire Department Volunteers, Ambulance equipment, medical supplies or replacement fire uniforms or just call them and ask what they need.
