LAKEPORT — Imagine looking up from your book selection at Catfish Book Store in Lakeport and discovering four beautiful “Little Women” in 19th century attire! Quite a shock … although a pleasant one.
This is the charming surprise that greeted the Catfish patrons this past Saturday afternoon, July 12, when the book store and four stars of the upcoming theater production “Little Women” hosted a tea party to introduce the cast and kick-off ticket sales for the August opening of “Little Women.”
Ticket sales were brisk as the much-anticipated show already began to draw a crowd.
“Little Women” is the classic tale of young people growing up during the Civil War. Although set in 1865, the joys and sorrows of this beautifully portrayed family and their friends are universal to us all.
Lake County Repertory Theater Company and Lakeport Community Players are combining once again to produce this summer blockbuster as the epic requires a cast of 30 and a crew of 15 to bring it to life! Although not a musical, rich music from folk songs to Beethoven will transport attendees to another time. Children and adults will nod and smile and say, “Yes. I know just how those people feel.”
Reserve and general seating tickets are on sale at Catfish Books in Lakeport (263-4454). General seating tickets can be purchased at Shannon Ridge Tasting Room in Clearlake Oaks (998-9656), Lake County Arts Council in Lakeport (263-6658) and Wild About Books in Clearlake (994-9453).
The cost of reserved seating is $14 and general seating is $12. The price for LCRT/LCP members, seniors and students is $2 less in each category.
