LAKEPORT — The Timber Rattlers, a team in the Westshore Little League”s minor league division, rolled to a 14-0-1 record during the regular season before going on to win the District II Tournament of Champions.
During the Tournament of Champions, which was contested June 9-14 at Gary Pickle Field in Lakeport, the Rattlers knocked off Westside from Colusa County and Kelseyville twice en route to winning the title.
Rattlers team members, coaches, parents and supporters celebrated their successful season with a barbecue and a game of Rattlers vs. Parents. Westshore Little League president Rich Sweeney also presented the Rattlers and their coaches – Scott DeLeon, Paul McGuire and Jeff Vertrees – with a TOC championship banner and individual TOC championship pins at that time.
The TOC championship banner is proudly on display in the office of team sponsor DeLeon Engineering at 125 Park St. in Lakeport.
