BUCKINGHAM — Former All-Pro punter Ray Guy of the Oakland Raiders and former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trent Dilfer bring the lowest handicaps into Saturday”s 12th annual Pepsi Celebrity Golf Shootout at Buckingham Golf and Country Club.
Nineteen former NFL players will team up with amateur foursomes during the Shootout, which is split between morning and afternoon flights. The morning flight tees off at 8:30 a.m.
Both Guy and Dilfer are listed as 2-handicapers (the lower the handicap, the better the golfer). Four other players in this year”s Shootout field also sport single-digit handicaps. They are former 49ers receiver Gene Washington, a 5-handicaper, and 8-handicapers Daryle Lamonica, the Mad Bomber of Oakland Raiders fame; John Taylor of the San Francisco 49ers; and Hall of Fame wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff of the Oakland Raiders.
The highest handicaps in this year”s field belong to former 49ers tight end Russ Francis (36), former 49ers running back Roger Craig (33), and former 49ers quarterback John Paye (32).
