MIDDLETOWN — Fresh-man forward Brittany Cash scored three times on Tuesday as the Middletown High School varsity girls” soccer team blanked the Calistoga Wildcats 8-0 in the season opener for both teams at Middletown.
Another freshman, Kiley Agapoff, added two goals in her varsity debut. Kelsey Welton, Shelby Davis and Taylor Sloan each had a goal and an assist for the Mustangs (1-0). Emily Beckwith added an assist.
“It was a good way to open the season,” Middletown coach Louise Owens said. “The girls got some confidence, got one under their belts.”
Middletown led 5-0 after the first half and the Mustangs emptied their bench in the second half.
“Everybody got quite a bit of playing time,” Owens said.
Middletown hosts Upper Lake on Sept. 4 at 3:30 p.m.
