CALISTOGA — Two games into the 2008 varsity boys” soccer season, the Middletown Mustangs are still looking for their first win … and their first goal.
The Mustangs dropped a 7-0 non-league decision on Friday afternoon to the Calistoga Wildcats in Calistoga. Middletown (0-2) trailed 4-0 after the first half.
“We”re just not in game shape,” Middletown coach Lee Hoage said of his Mustangs, who have lost each of their first two games by 7-0 margins. “We had a couple of nice shots on goal, but the Calistoga keeper made some nice saves.”
Middletown tries again for its first win Thursday at home against the Upper Lake Cougars at 3:30 p.m.
