LOWER LAKE — Saturday, Sept. 13, and Sunday, Sept. 14, should find you headed to Anderson March State Historic Park, located at 8853 Highway 53 in Lower Lake, for the third annual Old Time Bluegrass Festival. This toe-tappin”, string pickin”, rollickin” event is for the whole family, featuring bluegrass performances, vendors selling old-time handmade crafts, Art in the Barn, beer and wine gardens with Lake County wines, food prepared by local schools” culinary programs and service organizations and children”s activities and workshops.
Whew! What more could you ask for? How about this list of performers for starters? The Alhambra Valley Band, Mountain Laurel Bluegrass Band, Pat Ickes & Bound to Ride, Sidesaddle, the Mighty Crows and the Mighty Chiplings. Want more? Well check out these local favorites: the Konocti Fiddlers, Elem Native American Dancers, Public Nuisance, Laura and Darren Smith, the Clearlake Clickers and Don Coffin joined by Jim Williams and the AMIA Live Wire Choir.
Period attire is encouraged just to get you in the spirit. There will be two stages of music all day, both days. All this fun takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Pre-sale tickets are advisable and discounted. A two-day pass is $25 and can be purchased on line. At the gate tickets will be $20 for Saturday and $15 for Sunday or $35 for both days. Children younger than 12 are free and must be accompanied by an adult. Senior discount tickets are also available at designated senior centers.
