MIDDLETOWN — Kelsey Welton came out of the net to score three goals and the Middletown Mustangs shut out Summerfield Waldorf 8-0 in a non-league varsity girls” soccer game on Wednesday in Middletown.
Cheyenne Snow replaced Welton at keeper and turned in a strong effort, according to Middletown coach Louise Owens.
“She did a great job,” Owens said of the sophomore and heir apparent to the senior Welton”s keeper job.
Shelby Davis added a pair of goals as Middletown improved to 3-0 on the season. Brittany Cash and Kiley Agapoff also scored. Owens said the team”s other goal belonged to either Amber Begley or Natalie Diaz but wasn”t sure whom because of the way the play unfolded.
Davis, Cash, Kaitlyn Agapoff, Taylor Sloan and Amber Preusser all had assists.
Middletown returns to action today at Cloverdale.
